CLC Classroom Lead

The Oshkosh Area School District Board of Education is seeking applicants for the following CLC position for the 2020-2021 school year.
Hours: 15-17 hours per week with additional time for trainings, meetings, planning time, and special events.
Reports to: Site Coordinator
Classroom Lead is responsible for implementing the daily activities of the site, and general supervision/management of the children in the after school program with the support and supervision of the Site Director and CLC Director.


1. Supervising a specific grade level during the academic and enrichments hours of the program, promoting positive learning and experiences for the children in a harmonious, safe, and caring environment.
2. Communicate with day-school and program staff to address academic needs and create individualized learning strategies.
3. Use planning time to develop both long and short range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, making sure to support developmentally appropriate practice as well as program goals.
4. Attend required meetings and trainings.
5. Responsible for ensuring the completion of all site paperwork thoroughly and accurately.
6. Ensure daily cleanliness and organization of program areas including supplies and storage.
7. Meet with site staff a minimum of 1 time per month to ensure smooth functioning of the site.
8. Maintain the program’s philosophy and provide quality professional care in a warm and secure atmosphere with special consideration given to individual differences and needs.
9. Work closely with the Site Director and CLC Director to ensure smooth operation of the program.  This includes complying with the Oshkosh Area School District procedures in reporting accidents/injuries/incidents and fielding any problems at the site.
10. Responsible for fulfillment of program curriculum as directed by supervisory staff.
11. Responsible for helping assist in providing positive direction to children, teach and encourage new skills, and ensure a safe environment for all children.
12. Be an effective communicator with children, parents, staff, school personnel, and supervisors.  Welcome and encourage an open door communication policy with children and parents.
13. Maintain accurate site records including daily attendance reports, medical log book, medication administering and documentation, children’s records, all within state licensing rules and regulations.
14. Responsible for helping to maintain the physical appearance of the program environment including set up, storage space, and equipment.  Site must be left in a clean and orderly condition each day.
15. Attend staff meetings and complete 15 hours of continuing education as deemed necessary by the Site Director.
16. Adheres to guidelines and procedures as defined in the After-School CARE Programs Parent Manual and the Oshkosh Area School District Policy Manual.
17. Dress appropriately and maintain a neat appearance, including complying with the dress code, along with a friendly and professional attitude.
18. Have a positive attitude, act as a positive role model, and mentor children at assigned site.
19. Must be able to work with little or no supervision and make appropriate judgment calls.
20. Must be patient, flexible, understanding, respectful, responsible, dependable, and carry a high energy and sense of creativity.
21. Mandated child abuse reporter.
22. Have a completed physical and TB test on file within 30 days of employment.
23. Must be able to interact physically with children during program activities.
24. Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
25. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

2. Experience working in an after-school setting or with elementary age children preferred.
3. Strong organizational skills.
4. Ability to juggle multiple tasks and remain flexible.
5. Experience working with staff and families from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
6. Ability to delegate responsibility to other site staff.
7. Ability to recognize problem areas in regards to behavior, programming, and environment and report to Site Coordinator.
8. Ability to address and resolve any issues and implement approved change when necessary.
