Director of Teen Services

Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh provides after-school care and summer programming to over 700 youth in the Oshkosh area. The Director of Teen Services will have responsibility for programming for youth in grades 7 – 12 at the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh Teen Center – “The Club.”

Responsibilities include:

  • Development of an enriching and educational atmosphere where students fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, psychological, and academic growth.
  • Ensuring engagement, participation, and consistent attendance of Teens enrolled in activities.
  • Recruitment and retention of youth.
  • Implementation of program activities that contribute to a positive climate where students are actively engaged in learning and mentoring experiences.
  • Oversight of the Be Great Graduate program and Graduation & Career Coordinators, ensuring the established curriculum, measurements and outcomes specified in the grant proposal are met.
  • Collaboration with other BGC staff and programs.
  • Coordination and maintenance of cooperative working partnerships with area school district, higher education institutions, and other community partners.
  • Management of part-time staff.

Working hours for the Director of Teen Services are:

  • School year: Noon – 8:00 pm, Monday – Friday
  • Summer: 9:00 am – 5:30 pm, Monday – Friday
  • Occasional overnights may be required

Additional information/requirements:

  • This role is a mandated child abuse reporter.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in appropriate field of study or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with at risk youth, parents, and community leaders.
  • Proven ability to motivate at-risk youth and manage behavior.
  • Proven ability to attract, train, supervise, and motivate staff.
  • Competency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Publisher, Google Workspace. Experience with Visions preferred.
  • Must be CPR/First Aid certified, or become certified within 30 days of hire.
  • Must be able to interact physically with children during program activities.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb stairs.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
