Field Trip Assistant

Assist Trip supervisor with trip preparation, volunteers and member needs to make sure trips are safe and enjoyable. Promote the components of health, wellness and fitness.  It is the responsibility of every staff member to cultivate and maintain positive donor relationships.


  • Arrive for work on time and be ready to work.
  • Must be able to respond appropriately and use good judgment when dealing with children, parents and emergencies.  Complete accident forms completely as necessary and give to Center Director or Education Director ASAP.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
  • Help promote the summer trip program with Club members.
  • Provide members with well-rounded programming at camp and various other summer adventures.
  • Make sure that you have all supplies necessary for trips, such as lunch’s, permission slips, and supplies for projects.
  • Maintain consistent rules to assure proper and appropriate discipline and group management.
  • Conduct all Club programs in a way that promotes sportsmanship and fair play.
  • Help maintain Club vehicles by keeping them clean, and making sure they have plenty of fuel and check oil.  Report any vehicle problems to Facilities Manager.
  • May be asked to do other duties, which benefit the organization.
  • Mandated child abuse reporter.


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience in working with children
  • Knowledge of youth development
  • Proven ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems
  • Good communications skills both verbal and written
  • Proven ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
  • Be certified in CPR/First Aid
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving history. This is necessary for those that would drive a Club vehicle.

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Must be able to interact physically with children during program activities.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to function in a loud environment with high energy interacting with multiple aged members.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of environments, including outdoor activities possible trip assignment.
