TITLE:                                             Teen Youth Development Professional

REPORTS TO:                                Director of Teen Center

Job Summary:

Plans, implements, supervises and evaluates activities provided in the Teen Center, such as Education, Computer Lab, Arts & Crafts and Physical Education.

Hours will average 25 hours per week. The hours will be from 3:30 pm – 8:00 pm Monday to Friday. This is an hourly position and there may be hours required outside of those listed here. On Non School Days the hours will align with an 8 hour day.

Helps at the front desk with membership check-in, concessions, game check-out/in, answering phones and some cleaning duties.

Promote the components of health, wellness and fitness to achieve the goals of the organization.

It is the responsibility of every staff member to cultivate and maintain positive donor relationships.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience working with youth in a mentoring or educational setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build rapport with youth from diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge of youth development principles and best practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and engage youth participants in various programs and activities.
  • Plan and implement educational and recreational programs for youth.
  • Provide guidance and support to youth in their personal and academic development.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to create a positive and inclusive environment for youth.
  • Implement daily Teen Center activities and programs.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as record keeping, data entry, and program documentation.
  • Conduct all programs in a way that promotes sportsmanship and fair play.
  • Participate in fundraising efforts to support program initiatives.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Must be able to interact physically with children during program activities.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to think clearly and concisely.
  • Must be able to function in a loud environment with high energy interacting with multiple aged members.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of environments, including outdoor activities possible trip assignment.

Job Types: Part-time

Salary: $14.00 – $16.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 5 hour shift

License/Certification:

  • First Aid/CPR  Certification (Preferred)
