Last week, our Character & Empowerment Class came alive with movement, music, and so much joy! 💙🎶

We were honored to welcome Oshkosh’s own Gabrielle Luloff, creator of the Wance movement and TEDxOshkosh speaker, who led our Club girls through an afternoon focused on self-expression and confidence through movement with her sister Haleigh.

Gabrielle’s message was all about keeping your spark alive through imagination, doing what you love, and embracing what makes each of us unique. She shared how dancing and movement can help us process emotions, lift our mood, and bring us back to ourselves, while also reminding us to appreciate and accept the uniqueness in others and spread positivity wherever we go.

As the girls walked, danced, and Wanced together, they were reminded that there’s no “right” way to express yourself—just your way. And when you do, something powerful happens: confidence grows, joy shows up, and connection follows.

In celebration of National Be a Kid Again Day today, Gabrielle’s message feels especially meaningful. That spark of creativity, play, laughter, and self-belief isn’t just for kids—it’s something we all deserve to hold onto.

A heartfelt thank you to Gabrielle and Haleigh for bringing such energy and encouragement to our Club and inspiring our girls to move through life with confidence, kindness, and joy.

Experiences like these are made possible through support of our Afternoon Tea event. Join us in celebrating and investing in the next generation of confident young women by reserving your seat today: bgcosh.org/events-news/afternoon-tea/

Join us next week for the next Look Up Book Club: The Power of Fun—a conversation about how making space for joy can change the way we live, work, and connect.

📖 This summer, we’re diving into Catherine Price’s The Power of Fun, exploring how fun isn’t optional—it’s essential.

✨ Join us for a special community discussion at the Hyde Family Community Center:
📍 Tuesday, July 14 | 6–7 p.m.
Hyde Family Community Center (enter Door 11, Community Room)

Led by library staff, this session is a chance to share ideas, reflect on the book, and think about how to bring more “huzzah” into everyday life.

📚 Books are available on Libby (eBook & eAudiobook) and at your local library. Thanks to the Women’s Fund of the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation, discussion sets are also available for community book clubs.

This series is a collaboration between the Women’s Fund, the Hyde Family Community Center at the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh, and the Oshkosh Public Library.

We hope you’ll join us July 14th!

Happy 4th of July!

While many families are getting ready for a long holiday weekend of camping, we’re taking a moment to look back at some recent memories from Camp Radford! 🏕️💙

Over the past few weeks, campers have been outside exploring, playing games, making friends, and soaking up all the classic Camp moments that make summer so special. And, don't forget catching frogs!

As we head into the 4th of July weekend, we’re grateful for the experiences our campers have already shared and excited for all that’s still ahead this summer!

Our Great Explorer & Radford members had an exciting day out at the 1000 Islands Environmental Center! 🌿🐟💙

From wading in the water and observing wildlife to asking curious questions, our members experienced firsthand how fun and exciting the natural world can be. Members enjoyed spotting wildlife, asking questions, and even catching crayfish along the way!

There were big smiles, a few surprised squeals, and a whole lot of “look what I found!” moments.

A perfect summer day of adventure, discovery, and fun with friends! 🌎✨

☀️ LAST DAY TO SUPPORT OPERATION: SUNSCREEN ☀️

Today is the final day of Operation: Sunscreen, and we’re making one last call to our amazing community.

All summer long, hundreds of youth at the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh have been outside learning, playing, exploring, and making memories. To keep them safe, we use 25 to 30 bottles of sunscreen every single week.

That need doesn’t end today—and neither does the impact you can make.

☀️ Donate sunscreen today at:
📍 Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh (532 Broad St., Door # 8)
📍 Discover Oshkosh Visitor Center
📍 Westhaven Golf Club

🛒 Or ship directly to:
501 E Parkway Ave, Oshkosh, WI 54901

💙 Or give a financial gift here:
secure.givelively.org/donate/boys-girls-club-of-oshkosh-inc/operation-sunscreen

Ran out of time to give today? No problem—we will continue to accept sunscreen donations beyond the campaign and always appreciate ongoing support throughout the summer.

Every bottle helps. Every gift matters. And every act of support helps keep kids safe in the summer sun. 🌞

Thank you, Oshkosh, for showing up for our youth all summer long.

☀️ LAST DAY TO S

Last Monday, our Club girls put their best manners forward during the second Character & Empowerment Class and had a whole lot of fun doing it! 💐☕✨

A special thank you to the incredible women from the Service League: Amy, Beth, Denise, Jane, and Kate for sharing their time, talents, and wisdom with our members.

Through hands-on stations, girls practiced making confident introductions, navigating place settings, learning dining etiquette, keeping conversations flowing, and ending a meal with grace. There were plenty of laughs along the way, but also meaningful lessons about respect, self-confidence, and feeling comfortable in new situations.

While the focus was on etiquette, the bigger takeaway was learning how to walk into any room with confidence, treat others with kindness, and believe in yourself. These are skills that will serve our girls far beyond the dinner table.

Special thanks to our Afternoon Tea event supporters, whose generosity helps make empowering experiences like this possible for local girls. Join us in supporting the next generation of confident young leaders by attending Afternoon Tea: bgcosh.org/events-news/afternoon-tea/
