YES! I want to ensure Great Futures for youth and families in the Oshkosh area by supporting the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh Building Project.

Whatever It Takes to Build Great Futures Capital Campaign

The Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh has served our community for over 50 years by keeping to our mission of improving the lives of children and families. We are the largest agency in Oshkosh that provides basic needs to our Club members and their families. We provide onsite showers, clothing support, hygiene supply support, back to school support, rental and bill assistance, meals, mental health services and more, all for an annual fee of only $25 per child. We try to make sure families who are receiving these services are then working their way to self-sufficiency. Each summer, we end up with a waiting list of over 100 kids. We added a second site in 2020 at Peace Lutheran Church, but we continue to have a waiting list.

In the last few years, the number of kids we are serving has been growing! We are currently in 14 schools for after-school programming including Omro. In the Oshkosh Area School District, we were able to open a new after-school program for South Park Middle School and North High School as well as add a staff member for our Be Great Graduate mentoring program at West High School. Completely new is our site for the Omro School District for their elementary school where we enrolled 50 new members in Fall and will have another 50 for the 2022 Omro Summer Program.

Also, we recently partnered with the school district to bus children from full after-school care sites to the Club after-school to make sure we are serving all children who need us the most.  While adding sites is always amazing for the kids you support, we also added bus routes to get kids from full after-school care sites at Read, Jefferson, Merrill, Oaklawn Elementary, Perry Tipler, Merrill and Webster Middle School and West High School. Transportation allows another 110 kids to get services at the Club each week with 30 of them being completely new members from Oaklawn Elementary. We currently serve over 700 children every day and our average daily attendance is up 70%. We serve about 1,800 children each year through direct service and we want to keep serving as many of Oshkosh’s youth as possible.

Currently, our building is at capacity. As a Club, we are now looking to the future. The Club will begin a new 5-part capital project led by contractor, CR Meyer which will allow us to better serve our mission. This building project will include an expansion and a new building that will give us more program space for children and teens and include a community center space for other local agencies to come together to collaborate to better serve those who need us most in Oshkosh.

As the Boys & Girls Club enters a new capital campaign, something we have not done in 17 years, we ask that you graciously consider a gift towards this project. We also encourage you to take some time to visit us here at the Club and see first-hand how on a daily basis we are changing and improving the lives of children in our community. We plan to do Whatever It Takes to continue our mission of improving the lives of children and families!
