Whatever It Takes to Build Great Futures Capital Campaign

Building Project Contractor: CR Meyer

The Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh has served our community for over 50 years by keeping to our mission of improving the lives of children and families. We are the largest agency in Oshkosh that provides basic needs to our Club members and their families. We provide onsite showers, clothing support, hygiene supply support, back-to-school support, rental and bill assistance, meals, mental health services and more, all for an annual fee of only $25 per child.

In the last few years, the number of kids we are serving has been growing. Currently, our building is at capacity. As a Club, we are now looking to the future. The Club will now begin a new 5-part capital project led by our contractor, CR Meyer, which will allow us to better serve our mission. This building project will include an expansion and a new building that will give us more program space for children and teens and include a community center space where other local agencies can collaborate to better serve those who need us most in Oshkosh.

The need:

  • The Club serves over 800 children and teens each day
  • Average daily attendance is up 70%
  • Each summer, the Club has a waiting list of over 100 kids even with our Peace Lutheran Church site added in 2020
  • Our after-school programs are at capacity and we currently have a waiting list
    • The Club is in 14 schools for after-school programming including our new Omro location where we enrolled 100 youth between our summer and fall programs
    • Our Be Great Graduate program serves 60 teens between Oshkosh North and West high schools.
  • Transportation allows another 128 kids to get services at the Club each week, but we need the space to do so
    • We partner with the school district to bus children from full after-school care sites to the Club after-school to make sure we are serving the children who need us the most. The Club busses youth from Emmeline Cook, Oaklawn, Read, and Washington elementary schools, Merrill, Tipler, and Webster middle schools, and Oshkosh North and Oshkosh West high schools.
  • We serve about 1,800 children each year through direct service and we want to keep serving as many of Oshkosh’s youth as possible!

As the Boys & Girls Club enters a new capital campaign, something we have not done in 18 years, we ask that you graciously consider a gift for this project.

We also encourage you to take some time to visit us here at the Club and see first-hand how on a daily basis we are changing and improving the lives of children in our community. We plan to do Whatever It Takes to continue our mission of improving the lives of children and families!
