Back to School Fair

The Oshkosh Community Back to School Fair provides 1,000 low income Oshkosh and Winneconne students with backpacks and school supplies needed in order for them to start the year prepared to achieve academic success. Each student also receives a new outfit of school appropriate clothing, along with socks, underwear, and hygiene items.

A Resource Fair is available at the event giving students and their families an opportunity to learn about community resources available to them. The Tri-County Community Dental Clinic bus as well as local hairstylists are on site at the Fair to provide dental services and haircuts at no cost to students in attendance.

This unique collaboration brings together community agencies for the greater good of Oshkosh and Winneconne students and helps minimize the duplication of community resources. It also provides families with a “one stop” experience in preparing for the upcoming school year.

This year’s fair will take place on Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m at North High School at 1100 W Smith Ave. Many volunteers are needed to ensure the Back to School Fair is a success each year. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Ruth Mauritz at (920) 424-2146.

The Back to School Fair is a collaborative effort between the following organizations: ADVOCAP, Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh, Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Services, Community Volunteers, Forward Services, Oshkosh Area United Way, World Relief, Winnebago County Housing Authority, Oshkosh Northwestern, Oshkosh & Winneconne Area School District, Parent Connection, Red Cross of NE Wisconsin, Southwest Rotary, Winnebago County Human Services, Winnebago County Public Health, FISC, Wisconsin Public Service Corporation, Fox Valley Workforce Development Board, Girl Scouts, UW-Oshkosh TIP/CCDET Program, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity.
