During the holidays, families long to spend quality time together and share in the joy of giving. However, for some parents and guardians of our Club members, the season brings added financial strain as they struggle to cover basic needs like rent and food. This makes it challenging for them to provide gifts for their children. Our Adopt a Family program aims to alleviate this burden by matching caring donors with families in need. These families create wish lists for their children, and donors have the opportunity to shop for and wrap gifts for the kids. Last year, the program brought joy to over 220 Club youth, and with your support, we can make the 2024 holiday season a time of happiness for many Boys & Girls Club members and their families.
If you have any questions about becoming a donor for Adopt a Family, contact Bethany Ferguson, Boys & Girls Club Development & Grants Coordinator, at 920- 233-1414, ext. 122, or bethanyf@bgcosh.org. Donors will be matched with families from October through early November as families become available. We are also looking for donated hygiene/household baskets that can include basic household items like toilet paper, laundry detergent, hand soap, body wash, toothbrushes, etc. We found that parents are beyond grateful for this extra surprise as these are items they always need around the house.
Hygiene/Household Baskets:
We are also looking for donated hygiene/household baskets that can include basic household items like toilet paper, laundry detergent, hand soap, body wash, toothbrushes, etc. We found that parents are beyond grateful for this extra surprise as these are items they always need around the house. These can be added to your Adopt a Family gifts or donated separately and the Club will give them to families in need.
New Winter Clothing:
Children and teens are in need of waterproof gloves of all sizes, warm hats, and snow pants. We are also looking for winter coats for middle school age children and teens (sizes adult S, M, and L).
There will be a safe gift drop-off (including hygiene/household baskets) at the Club for donors from 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 9. The Club will take care of distributing the gifts to families the following day, on December 10.
This program is open to Club member families only. If you’re a Club family who would like to be considered for this program, please contact our Director of Youth & Family Engagement, Danielle Bittelman, at 920- 233-1414, ext. 124, or danielleb@bgcosh.org.
