BE GREAT: Graduate Program

The Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh BE GREAT: Graduate program is a teen mentoring program.  We serve over 90 teens at Oshkosh North and Oshkosh West high schools and through our new program at Vel Phillips Middle School. Each school year and through the summer, our Graduate & Career Coordinators work one-on-one with students to stay on track for graduation and create a plan to be college, career and community-ready after graduation. Students enrolled in the program are also given a free membership to the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh.

Our Graduate & Career Coordinators will work one-on-one with students to:

  • Help advocate for students and more importantly teach them how to advocate for themselves!
  • Create semester goals and weekly goals and have weekly check-ins with each student
  • Have weekly grade checks
  • Help students connect with their teachers, when, and why they would need to
  • Connect students with tutors and additional guidance
  • Provide homework help
  • Assist students in troubleshooting obstacles
  • Explore and discover career paths through college tours, business tours, and other field trips
  • Aid students in applying for scholarships
  • Guide students in the transition from middle school to high school by understanding credits, GPA, and the requirements needed to graduate high school

Parents will receive updates on grades, goals, progress and other opportunities available to their students.

In the past 3 years, 100% of students in the program successfully graduated!
