Adventure Program at Peace Lutheran

Adventure Program at Peace Lutheran

Program Overview

The Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh is excited to again offer a summer program located inside of the Peace Lutheran Church building, 240 W 9th Ave! The 2021 summer hours begin on Monday, June 7th and end on Friday, August 20th. The Adventure Program at Peace Lutheran will bring Boys & Girls Club programming to a new location for 6-12 year olds. This program will feature a variety of programs that focus on academic success, health and wellness, character and leadership, sports, fitness and recreation as well as the arts.

When enrolling for summer, please note that this is a separate program and requires you to register ahead of time.

For summer 2021, we will be enrolling 100 Club members into this program site. The program will have 5-6 classrooms specific to member age. Each classroom will have at least one teacher that will lead their group in a variety of activities.

While in the classroom, Club members will participate in engaging games and activities that are tailored to that group’s age-appropriate skills and abilities. Club members will also have access to a playground, gym and cafeteria/games room throughout the day. Breakfast, lunch and snack will also be provided for all members.

The Adventure Program at Peace Lutheran will also have programming offsite. This includes field trips to local parks and businesses, bus field trips and swimming. The program is sure to keep your child busy and having fun this summer.

Program Dates & Hours

The Adventure Program at Peace Lutheran will run June 7th-August 20th, 2021.

We will be open 6:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

The Adventure Program will be closed on July 5th, 2021.

Age

The Adventure Program at Peace Lutheran is for children ages 6-12.*

If your child turns 13 while participating in the Adventure Program, we will help them transition to the CLUB Teen Center located at 501 E. Parkway Ave. the week of their birthday.

Meals

Meals are included in the weekly fee. All meals will be served in our cafeteria. During field trips and park days, meals will be brought along to those locations. If your child would like to bring his or her own lunch, they are welcome to do so. Cold storage is available for all lunches being brought in.

Meal times stay consistent for classroom days. On field trip days, meal times may vary due to the activities and schedules we are provided by the host site.

Breakfast – 8:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
Lunch – 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Snack – 2:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Registration

If you would like your child to be a part of the summer Adventure Program at Peace Lutheran, you must have a current membership form on file and summer registration form completed. We offer 100 spots for kids ages 5-12. Our Summer Registration Form will be available at Boys & Girls Club after school sites from 2:45 – 6:00 p.m. M-F, and at the Radford Center front desk starting Monday, March 1, 2021. The yearly Boys & Girls Club membership fee of $25 and your first week’s fee must both be paid in order to hold your spot.

What if the Summer Adventure Program at Peace Lutheran is full?

If you sign up, but the class has already reached the 100 child limit, your child will be placed on a waiting list. We will serve children on a first come, first served basis. This is why it is important to register as soon as possible to have your best chance of securing a spot for your child.

Weekly Summer Fees

We charge per week, not per day. This means that it is the same cost whether your child comes 3 days or 5 days.

First Child Additional Children
$80 $60

Payment is due the Friday prior to the following week in order for your child to participate.

Scholarship assistance will be based on a sliding scale income but everyone will be expected to pay according to their income level. Assistance will be offered for children who are aged 6-12. If you are interested in acquiring assistance, please contact your caseworker. If you are interested, please ask the Radford Center front desk for paperwork.

Field Trips

The field trip schedule is being developed right now! A calendar of trips and activities will be available in early May. Field Trip calendars will also be available at the site and can be requested from Kevin Muller, Child Care Services Director. Field Trips are included in the weekly fee. There is no extra charge for trips. Field trips are also voluntary. Club members may choose not to participate in field trips and remain at the site at the parent’s/guardian’s request.

Open House

An open house event will be held on Wednesday, June 2 from 6:00-7:00 pm at Peace Lutheran Church. During the open house, members and families will be able to meet their teachers, ask questions and enjoy a quick snack. Forms can be filled out and payment can also be made during this time. More information will be emailed out on May 1st, including which door to enter.

We look forward to seeing you all this summer!
