Wednesday Nights

This fall, the Club launched a new structure to our school year programming. On Wednesday evenings each week we will be holding special “Wednesday Night” programs and activities.
Normal Club programming will conclude by 6 p.m. each Wednesday evening, and then specialized programming will take place until 8 p.m. It is required that members sign up ahead of time in order to stay at the Club and participate in the different programs and classes that will be available. You must have a current membership to sign up for Wednesday Night programs.  
There will be a limited amount of spots available for each program, on a first come first served basis. A list of programs can be found below.

Sounds of Christmas Youth Choir

Youth in 5th grade through high school are invited to participate in our Fall/Winter Choir “The Sounds of Christmas” with instructor Brody Strachan. All skill levels are welcome from beginner to advanced. The choir will practice on Wednesday nights from 6-8 p.m. The cost is $10 for Club members and $20 for non-Club members. Scholarships are available.

CPR Training

Get CPR certified in 1 night through the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh! This program is designed for youth in 6th grade and up. Learn the skills to assist if someone is choking, not breathing or their heart has stopped. The course will teach CPR for infants, children and adults and includes use of a AED machine. At the end of the course you will recieve a CPR Certificate. Cost of the class $10.

Nov. 7 is middle school CPR one night from 6-8 p.m. Nov. 14 is high school CPR one night from 6-8 p.m.

Dance Stars Dance Team

Youth ages 6-18 are invited to join Dance Club. Members will learn different dance moves and routines through the program. Youth will have an opportunity to show off their newly learned routines during our Christmas concert on December 11th from 5:00 – 5:30.

Practice is every Wednesday 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

Fall Strings

Youth ages 8-18 are invited to participate in our Fall Strings with instructor Miyoko Grine-Fisher! Practices will take place on Wednesday nights from 6-8 p.m. All skill levels are welcome from beginner to advanced. Instruments will be provided including violin, viola and cello. The cost is $50 for Club members and $75 for non-Club members. Scholarships are available. This program is a partnership with Heid Music and funded by the Ruth A. Nordhaus Fund through the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation.

Ski Club

Join us for Ski Club! We will practice at Nordic Mountain in Wild Rose on Wednesday nights in January (i.e. the 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th.) Transportation will be provided and will leave the Club promptly at 4:30 p.m. and return at 8:00 p.m.

The final trip we take will be to Big Snow Ski Resort in Michigan Friday, Feb. 22nd – Monday, Feb 25th. Food, skiing, and lodging is all included in the program cost.

Program is open to 15 middle school/high school members. Cost is $50 for members and $75 for non-members.

*Members attending the ski trip to Michigan will be required to be in good standing with their school and have both the school and parents/guardians sign off for their absence that Monday. Payment must be received prior to the program beginning to hold a spot.

Make It!

The Maker Movement has come to the Club! Every other Wednesday, beginning September 26, Club members in grades 1 through 7 can create something new based on science or technology.

Lego League

This year, the Club has a new twist to Lego League! Students in grades 3 through 7 meet every other week, beginning Wednesday, October 3 to work on the Lego League challenge without worrying about the competition! This year’s theme is outer space!

Creative Book Buddies

Club members in grades 1-6 get the chance to create books and to write and illustrate stories and poems.

Story Time at Lakeshore Manor

Beginning Wednesday, October 3, Club members in grades 1 & 2 travel to Lakeshore Manor for story time with senior residents, complete with cookies and milk. Space for 5 children. Van leaves Club at 6pm and returns at 7:30pm. Transportation waiver is required.

Math Hoops Family Style

All Club members and their family members can participate in this fun new game from the NBA and the Milwaukee Bucks! Teams of 2 compete in a basketball tournament using their math skills. Meets the first Wednesday of every month at 6pm.

STEM Night for Teens – Club members in grades 7 through 12 can can explore activities related to science.
