Last week four junior and senior members, Goodness, Savana, Ethan Moench and Samantha, competed in the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh Youth of the Year competition.
Each year, we select one member who continuously shows good character, leadership, academic achievement, and consistent participation in club programming to represent our Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh for the coming year. Teens who wish to run for Youth of the Year complete an application that includes essays that tell their story and discuss their relationship with the club and how it has impacted their lives. They then participate in interviews with a judging panel that consists of Club board members, friends and alum, who then determine our winner. Our teens worked very hard leading up to judging day and did an amazing job explaining who they are and what the Club means to them!
We’d like to congratulate our winner, Goodness! Goodness is a senior at Oshkosh North High School and is Co-President of our Keystone Leadership Club. She also is an active member in a number of clubs at school and aspires to be a neurosurgeon in the future. Goodness will now compete in the Wisconsin State Youth of the Year in March alongside Youth of the Year winners from all over Wisconsin.
