In-person school is back in session and the Be Great Graduate Program is blossoming! The 2nd semester of the 2020-2021 school year is halfway through and students being back in person have been far better off in terms of attendance and grades. As some may know, we added another Graduation and Career Coordinator to Oshkosh North High School, Timothy Lange. With two coordinators at the high school, we’re now able to serve up to 40 students with this program.
Students participating in the Be Great Graduate Program have had access to several college visits including Fox Valley Technical College, Marquette University, Marion University, UW-Madison, UW-Stevens Point, and UW-La Crosse with more to come this summer. Students have also had the opportunity to virtually meet with professors from the Salon Professional Academy and will be touring more businesses this summer.
Overall, from the beginning of last summer (June 2020) to this spring (April 2021), students have excelled academically. We have recorded a 12% increase in language art course grades, a 22% increase in mathematical course grades, and a 44% increase in seniors graduating on time. Having gone through a pandemic, these students stepped it up and hung in there and we at the Boys and Girls Club could not be prouder of our members!
This year we have six seniors who will all be graduating and we wish them the best in their futures!
Your Graduation and Career Coordinators,
