A Look Back at 2020 from New CEO, Tracy Ogden

Happy New Year! While this was certainly not the year any of us had planned there were so many positive things I would like to call out.
I saw our staff going above and beyond to make sure we were fulfilling our mission and taking care of our kids and families during the year. During shut down, they were creative and thoughtful making sure everyone had meals, clothes, hygiene and cleaning products. During virtual school our staff became tutors and worked endless hours getting kids on zoom meetings and homework completed. These staff are extraordinary.
I watched our kids getting to come back to the Club and listened to the laughter and the joy of being back with their friends and having a little fun and normalcy during a whole lot of uncertainty.
We reconnected with so many alumni this year that shared their stories, their pictures and the love of their Boys & Girls Club and the time they spent here. They told us how we changed their lives for the better. We are proud, and we are humbled.
And of course, this community. I watched our friends step up and say how can we help? You came forward with donations, face masks, coats, boots, games, food for our families and our pantry. You adopted families for Christmas, you helped with Thanksgiving meals, you brought us school supplies. The list goes on and on and this Boys & Girls Club is truly grateful to you.
It is because of all this and so many other reasons why I love this Club. As we start a new year I can tell you I am excited for what is to come. There is an energy and excitement throughout the building as we look to the future and see what we want to accomplish. We will continue to do everything we can to support our families and serve our kids every way we can. It has been our honor to fulfill our mission and be a part of this community for 50 years.
Thank you for your trust and your confidence in us as we get ready for the next 50.
