It was with great honor that Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh CEO, Marc Dosogne and board member Sue Ackerman accepted on behalf of the Club the top award for Resource Development in 2018 presented by the Wisconsin Area Council at the Boys & Girls Club’s Wisconsin Area Council conference in Madison last month.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Oshkosh Marketing and Resource Development Department was awarded with the Outstanding Resource Development award for their #FriendFriday social media campaign which sought to strengthen the Club’s relationship with businesses in our community.
The Wisconsin Area Council awards are designed to give Boys & Girls Clubs recognition for their accomplishments as well as to provide an opportunity to share their successes with other Boys & Girls Club organizations. This is part of what makes the Boys & Girls Club Movement so strong. There are four award categories which include Resource Development, Marketing and Communications, Program, and Board Volunteer.
“I am so very pleased,” Dosogne said. “Our Marketing and Resource Development team are always looking for new and better ways to promote the Club and stay connected in our community, and because of their efforts we are so well known in Oshkosh and nationally among other Clubs. This award really demonstrates how hard our staff works and how much they love our Club.”
The Wisconsin Area Council conference provides Boys & Girls Club directors and board members from across the state with an opportunity to network and take part in Boys & Girls Club statewide strategic planning. It’s also a time to celebrate the successes of Clubs, programs and individuals in the movement from around the state.
Also during the conference, lifetime board member Ron Lampe and former Club member and staff member Wally Graffen were both inducted into the Wisconsin Boys & Girls Club Hall of Fame for their longtime contributions within the Boys & Girls Club movement.
“We have been extremely blessed to have Ron and Wally give so much of themselves through the years to our Club.” explained Dosogne. “The Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh wouldn’t be what it is today without the involvement and dedication of these two individuals.”
