Trees from Seeds Art Expression Group

The Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh and Catalpa Health have joined forces to help kids and teens grow and mature into strong and resilient adults through the Trees from Seeds program. This program is designed to encourage mental health and wellness of all Club members ages 5-18, by providing onsite mental health therapy and case management services. Services may include individual, family and\or group therapy. Trees from Seeds also provides Club staff in-service trainings on mental health as well as emotional wellness programs for all Club members. I encourage parents to ask questions about the Trees from Seeds Program and see how it can make a difference for your child!

For those of you who do not know me, my name is Kylie Frederickson. I am the Case Manager for the Trees from Seeds Program here at the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh. For the past several weeks, I have been working with the kids through an art expression group. The purpose of this group is to get the kids’ creative processes involved while expressing one’s self artistically. This can help resolve issues while developing and managing behaviors and feelings, reducing stress, and improving their self-esteem and awareness. The goal for this group is to develop further personal growth and connection through art expression, activities, and discussion. Each week we’ve had a different theme and tied our art projects into those themes. We’ve chosen themes such as coping skills, self esteem, focusing on your emotions, all about self, self soothing and calming, self image, etc.

For further information about the program, please talk to the Club’s Program Director Danielle Bittelman or stop in the Catalpa Trees from Seeds office at the Club.
