Basic Needs

As we head into the fall and winter months, one of the biggest programs we see used is our Basic Needs Program. Our Basic Needs Program covers any basic needs from showering and doing laundry at the Club on a daily basis, meals of snack, lunch or dinner, being able to get new clothes and school supplies for school, getting new hats, coats, boots or waterproof gloves/mittens for the winter, providing medical, vision and dental care, emergency assistance to families and support over the holiday season through holiday meals and gifts. None of this would be possible without our amazing donors like J.J. Keller Foundation, Kimberly-Clark Foundation, Kroger Foundation and the many wonderful people like you who makes this program successful.

Children who receive support from the Club come from many different backgrounds and are all helped by our Family Support Coordinator, Julie Morris. Julie makes sure each child feels special and confident while in the program and each child in the program loves her.

Julie, during the next few months, will make sure each of these children has the proper winter clothing including a coat, hat, waterproof mittens, snow pants and boots. We will also make sure that these families in need will have a wonderful Thanksgiving by purchasing meals that they can make at their homes as well as having a Thanksgiving Dinner at the Club. During Christmas time, we will adopt out a number of these families who without generous donor help would not have gifts to open.

As a friend of the Club, these are a few ways you can give back during the holidays to families and children in need. We are currently accepting donations of new or gently used winter hats, coats and waterproof gloves and mittens in all sizes. As we get closer to the holidays, we will send out reminders on how to get involved in donating Thanksgiving meals and Adopt A Family. Make sure you are getting those emails by signing up here.
