Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh Members Keeping Busy

This summer may be different for our Club members and staff, but we are making the best out of it!

The Great Explorers Program, for children 5-7 years old, has been taking advantage of the hot weather. Staff set up afternoons of water games and activities each Monday! We recently played with water balloons, set up the sprinkler and even had a inflatable water slide.

The Adventure Program at Peace Lutheran heads to the park once per week to enjoy the weather while playing on the playgrounds, fishing, having squirt gun fights and playing against the staff in a game of kickball!

Both programs are still able to go to Camp Radford every two weeks and enjoy the outdoors. Club members swam, played GaGa Ball, participated in arts & crafts and learned about nature and the surrounding area while there. The Adventure Program ends with a week up at camp from August 17th-20th.

In the classrooms, staff members have many activities planned in the areas of STEM, math, art, literacy, community service and health & wellness. So far, they have made cards for community workers, made tie blankets for Bella Vista, built buildings with legos, used cotton balls to demonstrate different kinds of clouds, spent time doing yoga as a class, watched the chemical reaction of soda and Mentos, made paper mache art and much more! Each class is also able to spend time in the gym and out on the playground. When the weather’s nice, teachers take their kids on a short walk to get extra fresh air.

Club staff are enjoying the smaller class sizes this summer and the extra attention they can give to each Club member!
