Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh Members Spend Summer at Camp Radford

During a typical summer, our Club members would usually go on a variety of different field trips and visit many different places. They would take in everything from watching a Timber Rattlers game, to visiting the animals and going on a tractor ride at Mulberry Lane Farms, burning off their energy at Monkey Joe’s, to visiting a Zoo and a few water parks.  However, this summer the Boys & Girls Club has looked a bit different with following regulations to ensure a safe and healthy environment.

Thankfully members from all of our sites this summer have still been able to enjoy the outdoors and spend time at our own Camp Radford! While at our 45 acre camp in New London, members were able to participate in activities such as archery, fishing, fort building, swimming, cooking over a fire, arts & crafts, large group games, gaga ball and hiking. They also learned some tree identification, dissected owl pellets, fire starting tips and some wilderness survival skills. Catching frogs and making smores at camp has definitely been among the highlights of summer!  For some of our members, this is their first time doing all of these activities so it’s not only fun for them but also for our staff that get to watch their skill set grow.

We are excited to continue our fun field trips to Camp Radford this summer!
