November 13, 2025
The Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh is thrilled to announce Chloe S. as its 2025-2026 Youth of the Year representative. The announcement was made during the Youth of the Year Dinner, sponsored by The Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh Alumni Association, on November 12th.
Each year, outstanding high school members compete for the prestigious Youth of the Year title—an honor that recognizes their leadership, service, academic excellence and personal growth. Chloe competed against three exceptional peers—Happiness A. (Oshkosh North High School), Donovin P. (Oshkosh West Riverside Campus) and Grace S. (Oshkosh West High School)—to earn the title.
As the 2025–2026 Youth of the Year, Chloe will receive a $10,000 scholarship from the Charles F. Hyde, Jr. Scholarship Endowment to support her higher education. She will go on to represent the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh at the Wisconsin Youth of the Year competition in Madison this March, where she’ll have the opportunity to earn additional scholarships and advance to the regional and national levels.
From Club Kid to Confident Leader
Chloe has been a proud member of the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh since she was just four years old. Over the years, the Club has become her “home away from home,” helping her discover her voice, confidence and purpose. Today, Chloe serves as President of the Keystone Club, leading her peers in community service projects and mentoring younger members through Torch Club.
Through her leadership, Chloe has helped shape the teen center into an inclusive space where everyone feels welcome. “The Club has shown me what impact I can have on people and created a community where everyone feels valued,” Chloe shared.
Driven Scholar with a Vision for the Future
Chloe is currently a junior at Oshkosh West High School and maintains a strong academic record, including a 3.5 GPA. She is also enrolled in the Academy for Global Studies at Oshkosh West—a rigorous, interdisciplinary magnet program that blends honors-level English, Spanish and social studies with inquiry-based learning in a smaller learning community.
Beyond the classroom, Chloe gives back in her community: she served as the lead vocalist at First English Lutheran Church, where she led rehearsals, performed weekly and worked with younger youth during the holiday season. Her academic dedication and community service combine to shape a well-rounded candidate who is not only excelling in advanced learning but actively contributing her voice—literally and figuratively—to her community.
Finding Purpose in Justice
Chloe’s passion for helping others has inspired her to pursue a career in criminology. What began as a love for solving mysteries with her aunt has grown into a calling to bring justice and understanding to others.
Through the Club’s Keystone program, Chloe discovered that giving back and seeking justice often go hand in hand. “Keystone showed me how real it could be for me to help others,” she shared. “It taught me that giving back can also be a way to provide justice.”
Her curiosity, compassion and leadership continue to guide her as she works toward her dream of becoming a criminal analyst.
A True Reflection of the Club’s Mission
“We are so proud of Chloe,” said Alyssa Martinez, Director of Teen Services & Workforce Development. “In the year and a half that I’ve had the privilege of working with her, I’ve watched her grow into a confident, driven and compassionate leader. Chloe consistently goes above and beyond to support those around her and truly represents the heart of what the Boys & Girls Club stands for.”
The Youth of the Year Dinner also celebrated the achievements of Club members ages 5-18 in areas such as Health & Wellness, Academic Success and Character & Leadership. Families, donors, mentors and alumni joined in applauding these outstanding youth during an inspiring evening, where the kids proudly took the stage to receive medals recognizing their accomplishments.
