POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

 TITLE:                                   Healthy Habits Coordinator

 REPORTS TO:                      Chief Operating Officer

Job Summary:

This part-time position supports the work of the Club, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening communities through youth development. The Healthy Habits Coordinator is responsible for daily meal preparation under the Child and Adult Care Feeding Program (CACFP) and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) and working with BGCO administration to lead and implement a vision for the program.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience in working with children
  • Safe Serve Certified
  • Good communications skills both verbal and written 
  • Be certified in CPR/First Aid
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving history.

Job Responsibilities:

Meal Preparation:

  •  Plan, supervise and prepare meals and snacks.
  • Plan and order menu items for all children daily throughout the school year.
  • Create all menus for the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh.
  • Prepare all field trip meals prior to field trip times.
  • Promote healthy eating and trying new foods within our meals.
  • Order food, milk, and supplies through vendors weekly.
  • Work with other staff to plan menus for other sites.
  • Divide up snacks every week to all sites.

SFSP/CACFP/Inspections:

  • Prepare all paperwork needed for food grant applications.
  • Do all training necessary for SFSP and CACFP.
  • Manage all site visits necessary for audits.
  • Train part time and full time staff on CACFP and SFSP yearly.
  • Schedule and maintain all Health Inspections.
  • Complete all paperwork and turn in daily or weekly as needed.
  • Print and store all CN Labels.
  • Keep all paperwork posted as needed.

Cleanliness of Kitchen/Games Room:

  • Clean all dishes and trays as needed.
  • Prepare eating space for every meal, including wiping tables in between eating rotations.
  • Maintain a clean food pantry.
  • Maintain a clean walk-in refrigerator.
  • Maintain a clean freezer.
  • Maintain a clean Kitchen.
  • Clean and maintain the kitchen daily.

Other Duties:

  • Arrive for work on time and be ready to work. 
  • Supervise all other kitchen staff as needed.
  • May be asked to do other duties, which benefit the organization.
  • Mandated child abuse reporter.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive donor relationships. 
  • Promote the components of health, wellness and fitness to achieve the goals of the organization.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Must be able to interact physically with children during program activities.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to think clearly and concisely.
  • Must be able to function in a loud environment with high energy interacting with multiple aged members.
