In 2025, the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh was proud to host two sessions of our Parent Wellness Series, led by speaker and coach Molly Hildebrandt. Her program, A Parent’s Journey to Mental Resilience, created a welcoming and supportive space for caregivers to reflect, learn, and grow together. Through honest conversation and practical strategies, families gained tools to strengthen relationships, reduce stress, and build resilience that extends far beyond the classroom.
This four-part series covered a variety of topics, including communication, connection, healing, and long-term wellness.
The series began with a focus on communication – one of the most important foundations of a healthy family dynamic. Parents explored simple yet powerful techniques to improve everyday interactions, resolve conflict, and repair strained relationships. By learning how to approach conversations with intention and empathy, caregivers left feeling more confident in their ability to foster open, respectful communication at home.
In this session, participants were encouraged to look deeper into their child’s individual personality, needs, and strengths. This session emphasized the importance of truly understanding who a child is at their core in order to build trust and a meaningful connection. Parents gained new perspectives on how to support their children in ways that honor their uniqueness, helping strengthen bonds and create a greater sense of belonging within the family.
Parenting comes with challenges, and this session focused on identifying and managing the stressors that can impact both caregivers and children. Through a blend of reflection and neuroscience-backed strategies, parents learned how to better recognize their triggers and respond with intention rather than reaction. These tools help create calmer, more stable environments where families can navigate challenges with greater confidence and care.
The final session encouraged parents to turn inward and prioritize their own well-being. Participants explored how personal healing and self-awareness play a critical role in supporting their children. By addressing burnout, stress, and anxiety, parents began building personalized wellness plans that promote long-term resilience for themselves and their families.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Molly Hildebrandt for her passion, expertise, and dedication to supporting families, and to the Women’s Fund of the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation for making this opportunity possible. Their partnership allowed us to bring meaningful, impactful programming to caregivers in our community.
