Preparing Teens for the Future: Workforce Development at the Club

June 9, 2025

Did you know our Club offers a robust Workforce Development Program designed to prepare teens for life beyond high school? This summer, Club teens are diving into essential career-readiness skills such as goal setting, resume building, mock interviews, business etiquette, career exploration, the job application process and professional social media.

Club staff have already seen great success in action. Recently, they supported several teens through mock interview practice ahead of real job interviews. The results were impressive: three out of four teens received job offers!

As part of the program, teens also hear directly from local employers who visit the Club to present insights about different industries and what day-to-day life looks like in their careers. In addition, students get hands-on experience through site visits to companies in fields like hotel management, finance, manufacturing and more—offering meaningful exposure to a variety of career paths.

Higher education is also a key focus. Our Be Great: Graduate Program Specialists are helping teens explore college options by organizing campus tours for those interested. This summer, students will tour Wisconsin technical colleges and universities, giving them a firsthand look at college life and the possibilities ahead.

Financial literacy is another important piece of the puzzle. Most recently, teens completed a Money Matters series focused on the basics of smart money management, including goal setting, budgeting and cost comparison. The series ended on a high note with a lively game of The Price is Right, where teens applied what they learned in a fun and interactive way.

Through programs like these, our Club is empowering teens with the skills, confidence and knowledge they need to succeed in the future—whether that’s in the workforce, in college, or both.
