Recognizing Friends of the Club and Board Member Commitment

April 7, 2022

Each year, the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh recognizes an outstanding staff member, board member, volunteer or Club supporter and local business all of whom go above and beyond in their support of the Club’s mission. We’d like to extend each of the following 2021 distinguished award winners heartfelt congratulations and our sincerest thanks for all you do!

Blue Door Consulting was presented with the Kids & Community Award which goes to an area business that has demonstrated community leadership in supporting the mission of the Club. For over 10 years, Blue Door has helped the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh build our brand and market our story with their expertise. The talents and guidance of Heidi Strand, Brenda Haines, Tavia Gavinski and Jason Toney have been a huge support to the Club’s marketing team. When Heidi started on the Club’s board of directors she helped the team get the Club’s branding together and lent the expertise of Tavia to make beautiful graphic design pieces. Brenda has helped our Youth of the Year prepare each year for state competition as well as helped with press releases and any other messaging needs for the public. Jason has worked over the years to create many dynamic videos that showcase our Club members and programs so we are able to showcase everything we do for our community. They have been the perfect partner for us and we both love blue doors that help create Great Futures!

Ginger Wolff-Anderson was presented with the Award of Merit which goes to a volunteer or contributor who has made an extraordinary contribution of time and/or resources. Ginger has been a Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh volunteer for over five years sharing her passion for craft projects with Club kids. She began volunteering with the Club through JoAnn Fabrics’ community outreach program. She loved her time as a volunteer so much that when JoAnn’s discontinued the program, she continued to volunteer on her own time with JoAnn’s support. Almost every week in the summer, Ginger brings the most fun and unique art programs for the kids, allowing them the opportunity to try new experiences they otherwise might not get.

Tim Foust, a native of Oshkosh, was awarded the J.R. Vette Friend of Youth Award which is named in memory of lifetime board member, J.R. Vette, and goes to a board member who has put forth outstanding efforts to further the mission of the Club. Tim joined the Club’s Board of Directors in 2016 as the Alumni Association’s representative and has been involved in the Club for the past 38 years. He became a member when he was just eight years old and when he graduated from the Club when he was 18, he became a member of the Club’s Alumni Association and is still actively involved today. Tim truly embodies the meaning of the J.R. Vette Friend of Youth Award in the ways he has helped the Club to further its mission. Tim can always be found rolling up his sleeves and helping with a variety of Club projects from painting the Club to helping at Camp Radford, Club member Christmas parties, alumni events and everything in between.

Kevin Mueller was presented with the Professional Service Award which goes to a staff member who rendered exceptionally devoted service. Kevin has worked at the Club since 2008 when he started in the after-school childcare program as a part-time staff member. Kevin has held many roles since including Assistant Childcare Director, Childcare Director and is currently the Director of Club Services. With this new role, he directs the programs happening at our downtown Radford Center. Programs include the after-school program, non-school day programming, and the summer program. In the last year, Kevin has been instrumental in how our Club has been run, especially through online learning during the school shut down in 2020-2021. He has helped make the summer program into what it is today, led the second summer site at Peace Lutheran Church for the past two summers, has created new behavior management for the Radford Center and helped to develop the new middle school program. Kevin helps the Club excel by being detail-oriented and always thinking about what is best for Club members.

In addition, the Club would like to recognize and thank the following Board Members for their dedication to our mission to improve the lives of children & families. The Club is very grateful for your service!
