Steve Wells Joins Club Staff as New Athletic Director

The Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh is pleased to announce Steve Wells has joined the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh staff this month as our new Athletic Director.

Steve was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He attended the YMCA where he developed a love for competitive sports and graduated from Rufus King International High School. Steve played three years of basketball there including as a member of the state qualify 2013 team.

He then went on to play basketball for Iowa Central Community College where he earned all-academic 2nd team and was named co-captain as a freshmen. After graduating with his associates degree in general education, he enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and graduated in the spring of 2019 with a bachelor of science degree in health promotion.

Steve is excited to develop our daily programs for a broad range of kids, as well as the sports team coaching opportunities. “What inspired me to join the Boys & Girls Club was being able to use athletics to mentor at risk youth,” Steve explained. “And being a part of the Boys & Girls Club will help me continue my passion of serving the community.”

“We are excited to have Steve get acclimated and start making an impact with our youth.” said Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh CEO, Marc Dosogne. “If you stop by the Club, please join us in welcoming Steve to our team.”
