Welcome Abbey Hessling to the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh Team!

Abbey Hessling started at the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh in November of 2025 as the Director of Mentoring. Her work at the Club centers around providing meaningful connection and support for our youth. Abbey brings years of experience with her, having taught Spanish to high school students for 15 years. During her time as a teacher, she most enjoyed connecting with young people and helping them see their potential and chart a path towards their goals, an enthusiasm she brings to the Club’s Mentoring program.

Abbey grew up in Appleton and moved to Asheville, NC to attend Warren Wilson College where she studied Latin American Politics and Culture. She then went to UNCA to obtain a teaching license. After 25 years in the mountains, she moved back home to be closer to her parents, now living near them with her husband, son and dog. Abbey loves to travel, spend time with her family, read and be outside. She has a special love for capybaras due to their ability to be friends with all sorts of other animals.

Welcome, Abbey!
