A Recap of Our Summer Quest Program from Ms. Lauren

August 29, 2022

Our staff and club members have thoroughly enjoyed this summer here at the Boys & Girls Club! We kept members busy with 2-3 adventurous field trips each week and had some great community partners come in for special programming.

Our Thursday swimming days were a favorite of our Club members! We ventured to different pools and waterparks throughout the Fox Valley this summer to give kids some new experiences and a fun way to cool off on hot summer days. Quest members also went to a Timber Rattler game, toured Lambeau Field, and visited zoos, including the Milwaukee Zoo. All members also got to head to the Club’s camp, Camp Radford, for day trips. While at camp, youth get to do activities such archery, fishing, and cooking over a fire.

We are always excited to partner with other organizations in the community! Quest members took part in the Oshkosh Public Library’s summer reading program. The program has been a fun way to keep kids engaged with summer reading while attending the Boys & Girls Club. In addition, we recently began a partnership with our local Girl Scouts. Once a week, they came in with unique activities for our girls to participate in while teaching them valuable life skills. During our days at the Club, kids get to participate in STEM, art, academics, gym, Social & Emotional Learning and so much more!

Summer never fails to fly by! It’s hard to believe that we are already about to start our after-school program this Thursday, September 1st. You can still enroll your child/children in our after-school programs. All enrollment can be done right on the Parent Portal at parentportal.bgcosh.org.

Our downtown building will be open Monday – Friday and on non-school days during the week. We are excited to see our school-year friends back in the Club. See everyone on Thursday!
