Another Great Year of Memories at Camp Radford

Every summer, members of all ages take day trips to our very own camp! Camp Radford is located about an hour from the Club on the Little Wolf River in New London and is surrounded by natural wetlands.

Over the summer, members were able to participate in activities such as archery, fishing, fort building, swimming, cooking over a fire, arts and crafts, large group games, gaga ball, hiking, and so much more! Members also spend time learning special skills such as tree identification, animal printing, fire-starting tips, and wilderness survival skills.

We’ve made many amazing memories throughout the summer months at camp. If you ask a Club kid, catching frogs and making s’mores have definitely been among the highlights! Members were also given the opportunity to spend the night at Camp Radford. For a number of the kids that signed up, this was their first time staying away from home for the night. Some of the things kids get excited about when camping overnight are being able to stay up past their normal bedtime, sleeping on the top bunk, and watching an outdoor movie with popcorn! These are special moments in our members’ lives that they can learn and grow from. We are grateful to have such a beautiful camp to take our members to and enjoy the outdoors.

As we work on wrapping up the season and cleaning up Camp for the winter, our Camp bunkhouse got some updates with new footings. We can’t wait to create more lifelong memories at Camp next summer!
