Community Partnerships Add a Special Touch to Our Summer Program

August 24, 2021

The Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh is always happy to partner with some amazing organizations and volunteers in our community. This summer’s partnerships added some fun aspects to our weekly programming.

The Club Teen Center partnered with the Oshkosh YMCA to hold programming two days a week at the downtown location taught by Y program staff. Club teens used the YMCA facility and participated in health and wellness classes and activities such as group exercises, team-building games, yoga and they even went ice skating. The YMCA also held a water safety class for our younger members to prepare them for our many summer field trips to water parks and beaches.

Ms. Ginger came into all classes for ages 6-12. She loves sharing her artistic talent with our Club members and they love learning from her! She began visiting us during her time with JoAnn’s Fabrics and has been continuing to work with our kids for many years now. Youth participated in activities including making memory books, learning all about colors, painting and decorating cookies.

Ms. Sarah from the Winnebago County 4-H Club teaches several STEM activities throughout the summer. STEM projects include marble mazes, towers, marshmallow shooters, contests, and more.

We were excited to get the opportunity to go on weekly swimming trips and field trips this summer. All classes were able to go swimming weekly and enjoyed trips to area zoos, beaches and pools, nature centers, Badger Sports Park and many more locations where they got to explore, learn and cool off on the hot days of summer. We appreciate these destinations accommodating our members.

We are always interested in creating new partnerships and would love to hear your ideas. Contact the Club at (920) 233-1414.
