Intern Spotlight: Quest Non School Day

June 26, 2025

Before the school year ended, I had the pleasure of visiting our Quest kids on a non-school day for about two hours to hang out with the kids, and it was such a fun day! I got to see them enjoy a ton of creative projects like making hand fans with paper plates and popsicle sticks, dot painting, working on melty bead creations and even participating in a culture quiz game. It was so cool to see all the kids so engaged and having fun.

I had the chance to play a few rounds of spoons with a group of Club kids, and it was an absolute blast! We played about 10 games and the kids were so excited to keep going. One of them even came up with a super creative idea to camouflage the spoons on the floor by using the patterned carpet—such a clever move! Unfortunately, I had to head back to my office to get some work done, but one of the kids asked, “Can you ask your boss if you can switch to Chromebooks so you can work and play with us at the same time?” That honestly warmed my heart so much and it’s moments like this that really make my day.

I always enjoy the opportunity to get to know the incredible kids that come to our Club; chatting with them about their weekend plans and seeing their faces light up to show me their latest drawings. Their energy and creativity always brighten my day, and moments like these remind me why I love spending time with them!

This blog is part of the Club’s “Intern Spotlight Series”, where I’ll be sharing some of the experiences and insights I’ve gathered during my time at the Club. Stay tuned for more stories and reflections, from an intern’s point of view.
