Field Trip Bus Driver

The Field Trip Bus Driver is responsible for driving primarily the 32 passenger bus and on occasion the Club van. The driver is responsible for following all driving protocol and maintaining a safe atmosphere. The driver is responsible for transporting members from the Club to field trips and camp throughout the summer. The driver will communicate with the Program Director about the trip schedule and behaviors.

Responsibilities

Arrive for work on time and be ready to work.

Must be able to respond appropriately and use good judgment when dealing with children, parents, and emergencies. Complete accident forms when necessary and give to Program Director or front desk.

Maintain a clean and safe vehicle (van or bus), making sure all equipment is in working order and put away at the end of each day.
Transport youth from the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh to camp/trips and back again.

Maintain consistent rules to assure proper and appropriate discipline and group management.

Mandated child abuse reporter.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

CDL-class B license and valid driver’s license and good driving history. This is necessary for those that would drive a Club vehicle. To drive children you must be 25 years or older.

Experience in working with children

Clean background check & driving record

Proven ability to motivate youth

Good communications skills both verbal and written

Proven ability to manage behavior problems

Physical and Mental Requirements

Must be able to interact physically with children during program activities.

Must be able to think clearly and concisely.

Must be able to function in a loud environment with high energy interacting with multiple aged members.

Must be able to work in a variety of environments
