Youth ages 8-18 are invited to participate in the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh’s Summer Strings Camp with instructor Miyoko Grine-Fisher. The camp will run from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. August 12th – 16th and August 19th – 23rd, 2019 at the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh on 501 E Parkway Avenue in Oshkosh. All skill levels are welcome from beginner to advanced. Instruments will be provided including violin, viola, cello and bass.
There will be a special performance at the Boys & Girls Club on Friday, August 23rd from 10-11 a.m. Sign up is open through Wednesday, July 31st.
The cost to participate is $50 for Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh members and $75 for non-Club members. Scholarships are available.
The camp is a partnership with Heid Music and funded by the Ruth A. Nordhaus Fund through the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation.
“Music brings together teamwork, discipline and confidence to create a unified sound that inspires participants and audiences,” explained Program Director Danielle Bittelman. “I am looking forward to watching our summer strings youth perform together and experience the results of their hard work at the end of the two week camp.”
