Front Desk Supervisor –Quest/Teen

Reports to:               Director of Club Services

Job Summary:       

The Front Desk Supervisor is responsible for working with Club staff, youth, and families as they enter the Boys & Girls Club. This position has clerical responsibilities including taking payments, answering phones, scanning members in, and other customer service duties.

Hours are generally 2:30-8:00pm during school days, 9:30am-5:30pm on non-school days, and 12:00-5:30pm during the summer months.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Experience in customer service, administration, or front desk work.
  • Experience working with at-risk children, youth, and families.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across cultures, ethnic backgrounds, and socio-economic groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with program team, at risk youth, parents, and community leaders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Positive attitude and upbeat nature when dealing with members and the general public.
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Experience handling phone, money, reception, filing and correspondence.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop successful healthy relationships with youth, families, and staff.
  • Model appropriate staff reaction and techniques to other part-time staff.
  • Communicates effectively with students, parents, volunteers, peers, and the community.
  • Mandated child abuse reporter.
  • Greet members and visitors politely and maintain attendance, volunteer and visitor logs.
  • Answers telephone, providing general program information, referring callers to other staff or taking messages as necessary.
  • Responsible for maintenance and appearance of front desk and back staff office areas including cleaning.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • High energy level, comfortable performing multi-faceted projects.
  • Good vision and hearing necessary to complete tasks.
  • Must be able to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Must be able to climb stairs.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to function in a fast paced and noisy environment.
  • Must be able to think clearly and concisely.
