Meet Director of Teen Services Sean Purtee

April 16, 2021

The Club is pleased to announce the addition of Sean Purtee as Director of Teen Services. Sean oversees the Teen Center and all programming for teens and tweens including Be Great Graduate, Career Launch and our Mentoring Program.

Sean was born and raised in Wautoma, WI and graduated from Ripon College with a degree in sociology. Working with teens is a passion for Sean and he feels “very lucky” to have turned it into a career.  Whether it has been his past work with the Clubs at Tri-County and Milwaukee or with Upward Bound, he’s been helping to shape our youth since 2009.

“We are excited to have Sean here to help us expand our reach and provide the best possible programming for our teen and tween age groups. There’s exciting things happening in the Teen Center and Sean’s experience and skill set are going to bring that to the next level,” said Tracy Ogden, CEO.

What do you love most about your job?
I love helping young people grow into whatever they want to become. Seeing a young person that may have been shy or awkward grow into a social butterfly or seeing someone find their passion and develop that into a career or field of study is what brings me the greatest joy!

“Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It’s perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we’ve learned something from yesterday.” – John Wayne

Funniest thing you’ve heard a Club kid say
After explaining to a group of 5-year-olds that contacts were like glasses that you put on your eye, a little guy came up to me and said, “Mr. Sean, I don’t care if you have a glass eye, it looks real to me!”
