This summer, our Outdoor Adventure Club was able to spend an unforgettable couple of days at Wildman Adventures in Athelstane, WI connecting with nature and each other, and having a ton of adventure! It was an action-packed trip that started with ziplining through the trees and testing everyone’s comfortable height levels. This was a great opportunity for members to help and encourage one another as they all grew more confident with each of the seven lines they ziplined down.

The highlight of the trip soon followed as the group embarked on a three-hour white water rafting ride down the Menominee River. The scenery was incredible and filled with granite formations, beautiful tree-lined shores. Members learned a ton of safety techniques from their guide before experiencing the class III and IV rapids so that everyone stayed safe and had fun. For most, this was their first-time white water rafting and it was a wild ride that included lots of laughs!

The day of wild adventures ended with cooking over the fire and camping along the Peshtigo River. The sound of the water hitting the rocks lulled everyone to sleep and the warmth of sleeping bags was much needed on the rather cool summer night. Our Outdoor Adventure crew was woken by the smell of eggs and bacon cooking over the fire before packing up and heading back to the Club in the morning. Those on the trip couldn’t wait to boast about their accomplishment to their family and friends! Our staff and youth are thankful for this experience and amazing memories!
